Vogel Lab, UC Davis Center for Health and the Environment   April 2011-April 2014

  • Responsibilities: performed in vitro assays testing the synergism between two canonical immune pathways in mediating immunity in response to environmental stimuli. Worked with human cell culture and mouse tissue samples.

  • Achievements: Uncovered possible mechanisms underlying emergence of autoimmunity in response to environmental pollutants.

Myanmar   November 2008-December 2008

  • Responsibilities: measured blood pressure, assisted doctors with patient check-ups, and packaged, arranged and distributed medicine to patients.

  • Invited by a group of doctors, nurses and medical professionals to travel around Myanmar visiting orphanages, hospitals and churches providing medical care.
